Q&A: Will another bird foster a baby that is not hers?

Question by 3rdStreetKarma: Will another bird foster a baby that is not hers?
My friend found a bird by her house. 2 Were dead and one is alive. Mother did not come back. We had a bird nest at my house with the same type of bird. If baby is put in the unknown nest, will the mother of the other birds care for it?

yes...if you can put the adopted baby bird in the nest without too much disturbance (do it while both parent birds are out of nest, the parent birds should adopt the baby bird. Many other birds lay eggs in other birds nests and let the adoptive parents raise thier bird!

Good luck
