How can I keep the mother Zebra Finch from killing her babies ?


Question by lindaaw: How can I keep the mother Zebra Finch from killing her babies ?
The mother bird cares for her babies (1 or 2) until the feathers began to cover the babies. Then she pecks at their feet until they are bleeding. The young birds die.

remove the babies

the mother is doing this to tell the babies to leave so she can mate again

also if you dont have any shellgrit in there that might help

i had 20 baby birds in several nests but had not shelgrit in the aviary and all 20 babies where kicked out and died
