Are Hedgehogs good pets? If they are could you tell me how to care for them?

Hi,  I have been researching hedgehogs as pets. I am really set on getting this pet. Does anyone have any input on what they eat. I really need help with this. i can't find any good answers. Would they be a good pet for a responsible thirteen year old. I go to school is that ok if I'm not there all the time.
